Server instability.

I used to play London gateway, but it seems that server is now dead...I've dc'd 5 times in the past 24 hours on London... all in the uber lab. Yep, fun times.

Yesterday, after dropping, I could not log back onto London... even with other characters.

Only been playing a couple of hours a day lately, thanks to work, so this is not like I have dc'd 4 times while playing for the past 16 hours.

I tried several other servers. Latency skyrockets into oblivion.

My ping; connection; new desktop computer (it's more than enough for poe graphics); packet loss; etc are all fine. I don't have an SSD... but if this game can only function properly with an SSD... then that will be my official poe retirement.

Is there something wrong with the servers as of late?
If so, that's fine, I'd just like to know so I can come back when they are fixed.

Edit: DC was 4 times.. now it's 5.
I tried turning off multithreading. Same thing happened.

This is hardly the first time this has happened to me.

I've almost had enough. I no longer look forward to playing this game anymore out of sheer frustration and disappointment originating purely from instability issues.

People have been complaining since forever. ggg "looks into it".

Nothing changes.

Wow. You are a very patient person. If I disconnect once in a way that makes me lose items or progress I just drop the game for the league.

With so little no diagnostic information provided at all, it's impossible to help you.

What would an SSD have to do with supposed "server instability"?

If your disconnect is happening at a predictable location, it likely has to do with loading something that the game is having trouble digesting. Might be time to run that program that checks your files for you.
I used to play in London servers too and had similar problems. Specially when runnin juiced up maps with full sextants prophecies beyond and a HH freezes where wayyyyy to common for it to be my problem specially when portals where gone everytime i logged in after the lagspikes.

Been playing Frankfurt instead and much more stable. Still have some spikes here and there but that's just PoE.

The most weird thing is that in all my D3 RoS playtime i NEVER had similar issues when playing normally. Only lag problems were if you pulled 500 mobs in top of each other and spammed them with tons of AoE shit. Those spikes happenin in PoE where there is no pulling amd where an isolated pack can produced such a hugeee fps/lagspike it's definitely their problem. Blizzard have some shitty things in their games but servers are much better overall.

wow.
i just thought it works like minion instability and server explodes on low latency...

Run WinMTR at least 500 times and post results so we can see your link to the London realm please.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

Don't bother, they cannot, and won't fix the servers, and it's always on you. You in wherever you live, me in Serbia, someone else in Germany, Sweden etc., we all have the same problem, but it's us. You just have to wait out the dc periods and continue. It's one of the reason I won't spend a $ on the game.

Yes, because of however many thousands of people that are currently playing, a dozen or so are having problems... so it must be the servers right?

One thing you cannot fault about GGG over the years - if they have had a technical problem at their end they stand up and admit it, give a hugely detailed post about what happened and what they are doing to prevent it happen again, and fix things as soon as they possibly can.
