A generic name like Onigoroshi is hardly going to be exclusive to PoE. I even note that in the flavour text: it's a common slang word for strong, cheap liquor in Japan. I'm fairly sure the hyphenated form, Oni-Goroshi, is much rarer, so that helps differentiate things.

I always found the uchigatana in the Souls games to be too long in representation. It's meant to be a slightly shorter tachi. Oni-Goroshi herself is the length of a ninja-to but curved due to the quenching process during forging (per most curved swords). The reduced length is due to her being made for a fairly short wielder.

It seems Oni-Goroshi as in 'Demon Slayer' is a very popular name for alcaholic drinks. I guess if you drink enough alcohol you can try to slay your mental demons too.

Exactly. I'm 100% aware of the baggage that comes with the name. But I did arrive at it independently of all others, having decided that would be the name for the sword in the late 90s, inspired by a book I read in the mid 80s.

Now that I know that Oni-Goroshi = Demon Slayer I think it's the coolest name for a weapon in PoE. The implementation in PoE is very cool too. Being able to farm it from zone 1 on a new character is fantastic and opens up new build choices immensely. Finally (after 5 years), a real reason to want to start over with a new build.

Very well conceived and designed Charan. Hats off to you.  :)

I love the oni goroshi, but the 2/3d art would be look better as a proper katana (personal taste). Too bad the Ichimonji doesn't have a 3d art, otherwise I would skin transfer it straight away :)

That is fair enough but this being Wraelcast i didnt want to add outright Japanese designs. TGU art was done well before Ichimonji was in the game and I only decided to use the sword's original name after i saw other Japanese names in game. I prefer the look of the goddess swords over a katana in PoE. Also the most distinct feature of the original Oni-Goroshi is the tsuba. You cant really show that from the side so i moved that feature to the pommel.
