Black screen / monitor loses connection since patch yesterday

Since the patch yesterday I've been getting black screens, sometimes they happen and persist, sometimes they slowly flicker a couple of times before staying black and the monitor loses signal and the on/off button starts to blinks.

I've tried both with the newest GPU drivers and older ones (314.07 and 306.97) and I didn't have issues with either before the patch. I've also tried every possible idea I found while searching, turning off sound, shadows, running in windowed mode, turning down the graphics to a minimum, you name it.

computer specs:
Win7 x64 pro

i5 3570k 3.4ghz
geforce 660gtx TI (working temp at 60* when game breaks)
8gb 1600mhz ram

Nothing is overclocked and I didn't have any issues before the patch yesterday.

Turning off the game will give the signal back to the monitor after a few seconds so it's obviously something with the game that breaks this, what exactly happened in the patch is hard to know without debugging. Did a quick search but found no debug-flag for the executable to generate more log prints so the log is rather useless.
Yea i have the exact same problem monitor swiches on then off then on, finally bsod'ing. Cant interrupt it. Have tried other things such as gpu drivers as well but no cigar. I also have a 3770k and nvidia card so dunno if thats the common link. Try to interrupt it through task manager but it ends up crashing. This happens as soon as the loading screen goes and login screen opens. Its totally frozen, no animation or anything.

Specs are: 3770k, sli670, win8 pro x64, 12gig ram, running off a 840d ssd.

Dont have any problems in any other games, no have i ever had this problem with this or any other games.

Whatever is the game is entirely un-playable until its resolved.

EDIT - Just say that i have also tried as many different combinations as i could think of to see if it can opened

That is not the same problem I have, I never get a game crash nor BSOD, I can simply exit the game with alt-F4 and it will restore the signal to the monitor, so this might not be the same problem.
@Wablakin: What happens if you stress-test your GPU with FurMark (http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/)? It sounds like a hardware problem to me, not a software problem. If your graphic drivers would crash, the system would recover itself by starting them back up after a second. If they would repeatedly crash, then you would see the screen pop up ever second and I believe hear the sound of a device connecting/deconnecting. Your graphic card seems to just stop sending output. I would think that if you run FurMark, the same thing will happen. If that's the case, let someone with the right tools (computer shop for example) test the graphics card and the power supply unit.

@Tweaq: That sounds like your graphics driver crashing and recovering. Upgrading to the latest stable version of the driver is usually not a problem. Try that and see if that fixes the problem. If not, you can try the latest version where they are working on. Make sure you choose the right drivers (only the ones that are for your graphics card).
Don't read my signature!
I solved it, it was a problem in the 8th layer, I used some duct tape so it's working fine now.

Yeah actually, was late last night. Woke up and had a look with fresh eyes, noticed i had sli enbaled which i never do - disabled it and problem solved.

I had this running with sli in the last patch though so not sure whats caused it to crash with this new patch.

I've the same problem since 10.7, the monitor sometimes turn off, then turn back on one second later.
This happend 6 times today and never before.

This ist not fun in hardcore, the only thing i can do is drink flasks and run...
1. update your drivers or if you feel lucky clint east style try guru3d.com beta drivers:
review my thread for more ideas: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/342287

2. what resolution is your game in, what resolution is your desktop monitor? set them both to the same. make sure they are a normal setting and not an odd number

3. check the refresh rate, try 75hz or 60hz
