5 to 9 cold damage per 10 dex == broken prefix?
Edit: According to http://poedb.tw/us/mod.php?cn=Shaper#Bows it was nerfed to
"Adds (2–3) to (4–5) Cold Damage to Attacks with this Weapon per 10 Dexterity" -- Rare(?) bow in https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2036707 has a "5 to 9 cold damage per 10 dex" prefix. Simple math indicates that this is "broken" in comparison with other bows. Is there no attempt to try to balance the game? -- See also here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/7i5okh/is_it_only_me_who_thinks_that_this_is_truly_broken/ -- Feedback/Suggestion: This should be fixed (reduce value/s) before 3.1 goes live. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle! Dernière édition par Zrevnur#2026, le 12 déc. 2017 à 19:35:38 Dernier bump le 13 déc. 2017 à 09:57:11

this kind of scaling backfired many times in the past. GGG seems to forget that each time.
it might be tyrranical-level rare and still - one roll and you have end-game weapon (just regal + mastercraft aspd). im pretty sure it will be introduced as is and after the league end we will read yet another Manifesto full of 'well it is obvious now but we thought it good idea then'.. |

I honestly thought it was a mistake when I first saw it. There's no way they'd create one affix that does the same amount of cold damage as four Nuro's Harps, right? That'd be insane. But no. Evidently they would.
If that was literally the only affix a bow could have, it'd still be pretty good. 700 average cold damage with an easily attainable 1000 dex? That's crazy good. When it's one of a potential six affixes? That's stupidly overpowered. GGG really dropped the ball here. I know they like to push the boundaries on occasion to build hype and keep us hamsters running in our wheels, but this is too much. |

Shh, 2000 avg. base damage is fine.
Problem: impostor syndrome
Solution: nerf everything Result: depressing mess |

Last patch, nuro's harp chill effect nerfed by 40%, this patch, nuro's harp irrelevant.
Time to permafreeze shaper etc? Peace, -Boem- edit : btw +1 frenzy on it as-well :) that alone is stupidly good in some particular set-ups. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes Dernière édition par Boem#2861, le 7 déc. 2017 à 12:16:32

Yeah I don't know what to make of this at all.
I thought the per dex thing was a typo or some crazy shit. That is a lot of base damage even though pure elemental scaling isn't as good as phys/cold conversion scaling, that bow was crazy. The fact that this is part of the expansion and being released into both standard and the league at the same time is nuts too. Not sure why they nerf legacy items but then put stuff like this in the game which seemingly may be harder to "retroactively nerf" since it is a bunch of different rares with different OP mods. Maybe this is the "buff" they were alluding too... seems crazy to me but whatever lol... I'll play it! |

i have a BUDGET siege balista Iron Commander character. it uses GARBAGE items, has no conversion jewels, the pathing was rudimentary just to make the build going
Spoiler
these items are items i found by using stash search function, i doubt i bought anything and it was a BREEZE to reach 600+ without any (i stress this) ANY effort 600 dex == 300-810 (555avg) so something around 750 cold-only damage/sec base from one roll. sure, you can get higher from lvl21 spell gem... id like to read an actual manifesto on this prefix and how developers who 'okayed' that explain how they see future of rare bows in the future. I remember when they showed off the top talismans when talisman was announced. And we all know how that turned out.
Stop being such downers until we actually have some real data. |
