New to PoE. Where to farm

I'm familiar with games like PoE. I played D2 forever and D3. Love a good farm grind session. I am currently level 48. In act 5. Where is a good spot for me and my buddy to farm for gear?

Just progress trough game and do quests and norm lab. If u really need upgrades at that point, buy from poe.trade some cheap gear.

If u want farm for gear in acts, do it in Act 9 Blood aqueduects, I think it's one of the best in acts.

But u should really make focus to get in maps to farm ur gear.
You dont need to farm or buy gear this early in the game, PoE does offer alternatives you might not be aware of since yo just started the game.

1. Masters

You will encounter Masters every now and then.
Complete their missions to lvl them up and claim a hideout as soon as one of them hits lvl3.
Invite other Masters, claim their crafting benches and run their daily mission to lvl them further. If you share the daily missions with your buddy, you´ll lvl them quickly.

Focus on Elreon (jewelry) and Haku (armor) early on and push them to lvl4.
That´ll allow you to craft res and life on your gear, which is most likely what you are lacking the most. Both are sitting in act1 town.

2. Essence Crafting

Pick up white items with 4 linked sockets, if it is a good base for your build and the sockets colors are useful.
Like if you go for an armor based build, you want an armor base obviously ^^
Slam the item with an essence and hope for some good rolls along the the guaranteed roll.
E.G., if you are lacking cold res use an essence with a guaranteed cold res roll and hope for another res and/or life roll.
Dont expect to get an upgrade every single time you do it, but chances are pretty good you´ll get an upgrade.
Also exchange essences with your buddy (if you were playing a melee build, you dont need essences for spell dmg) and trade them up. Means sell 3x the same essence to a vendor and you´ll get 1 essence of the next higher tier in return.

Essences can be farmed by killing those frozen mobs you´ll encounter.
But be careful, the more essences are involved the harder the fight gets ^^

3. Orbs of Binding and Orbs of Alchemy

These two Orbs can turn white items into rare items just like essences do, but they do not provide guaranteed rolls. So its much more gambling, but it might result in a cheap upgrade.

4. Vendor Recipes

Read it and learn it.
Its a lot I know. But the recipes are powerful early on.

Hope thats helping you out a bit.
Cheers and enjoy the game

You don't need to farm anywhere during lvling, just play through the story and get to maps. Drops are RNG anyway (except div cards and some specific uniques), so there's no "farming places" in PoE.
Pick the highest area that you can enjoy playing and go to it. Players saying "you don't need to farm" are old timers who have learned to get by with weaker characters, or have gear that makes farming less useful.

You should be able to do normal lab at 45... give that a try.
The Aqueduct act 4.
The Blood Aqueduct act 9.

You can loot Humility Divination Card here.
Trade 9 of them with Tasuni act 4/9 Highgate to have a Tabula Rasa Simple Robe.

It's a 6L white sockets, so you can link whatever you want.

Also, you should find Elreon, Loremaster who is a master. He sells sometime a special ring/amulet with this mod : −8 to Mana Cost of Skills.

It helps a lot to sustain mana, and is really great with the Tabula because Support Skill Gems increase a lot the cost of your main skill.

You can see Elreon act 1 Lioneye's Watch if you don't have him in your Hideout
Generally, speed through the game as much as possible as long as you are no more than 5 levels behind, good places to get ahead in levels are dried lake (act 4 (till 42)) and blood aqueduct (act 8 (till level 71)) Other than that just clear and run, until you get to maps.
