Character/mobs/spells freezing, then fast forward.

One of latest patches caused this new bug to appear. As in title - character freezes, mobs, spells, almost everything freezes (but not the game itself, environment stuff like water, grass, campfires work normally) and then after several seconds all that was frozen moves in fast forward for few seconds. I know that it is not matter of my computer or connection cause 1. we have two computers here (different hardware, different drivers) and both have same problem, and 2. i see lots of people also posting about same problem recently. It's basically making game unplayable for us, cause while on lower levels this kind of freeze is not dangerous though very, very annoying), but on higher difficulties and freeze means death. And having such freezes every 15-20 seconds is pure torture. So please investigate this bug guys and apply some patch as soon as possible.

Hello,

To be honest I would have to disagree - this does sound like a game client freezing while it attempts to sync with the server. Even if you are the only one in your group, the game is still played server-side and the client will continuously sync with the server.

Can I ask if the game is set to Lockstep or Predictive? You can check by opening Path of Exile, going to the Options menu, switching to the UI tab, and looking at the Networking Mode.

Would you be able to post a WinMTR log? There's a guide here.

Considering that suddenly quite a number of people are reporting same problem, i think it's rather safe to assume that something happened in one of latest patches, don't You think?
Well, firstly, I'm not sure I agree there's been a dramatic rise in the number of people complaining about connectivity issues - GGG have mentioned that the playerbase has grown a lot over the last six months or so, and when you allow for that, I think things are fairly normal.

Even if there was a sudden increase in the number of people having connectivity problems, that doesn't automatically mean a problem with the game's code. It could be a server-side problem, it could be a networking issue affecting a datacenter, it could a popular ISP having routing issues or throttling the game's traffic, or it could be a problem with the internet backbone.

So I suppose the answer to your question is no. Particularly when I've been playing the same game you have, with the same patches, and I've had no freezing whatsoever.

Ah, your game is ok, so I must obviously be lying.
Ok, i don't know if You are some kind of righteous protector, trying to defend poor GGG workers from evil people like me who are reporting issues, but hey - i'm not here to argue with anyone. So - You win, I apparently had a bad dream, or hallucination (well, not only me, cause there is more people with same problem on this forums, so maybe it was group hallucination) and i made all of this up. It's ok, life will go on. You did good job and may feel proud of yourself - You fend me off, i'm not gonna try any more mischievous plans (like reporting bugs or looking for help) here anymore.
Well that hostility is totally unnecessary...

Mate, if you're going to report a problem then people are going to attempt to better understand the problem, so that the problem - whatever it is - can be fixed. If you read my post again you'll see that I even suggested it could be that the Path of Exile server you're attempting play on is unstable. I'm not sure how suggesting GGG's servers are at fault could be construed as me being "some kind of righteous protector" who is defending them. Not a single suggestion I made implied that it was the fault of either you or your internet service provider. Not a single one.

The only thing I disagreed with was that it was likely to be caused by an update to the game's code. I still maintain that potential explanation is unlikely - though not impossible. Regardless of whether GGG is at fault, it's more likely to be networking-related. I only mentioned that I'm unaffected by the problem as it was relevant to the explanation you had suggested.

If you re-read my post then I think you'll find your response to it really has very little to do with what I actually said. You seem to have focused entirely on me saying that the game's fine for me, which was a detail I mentioned and far from the only thing I said - or even the main point of my post. Unfortunately, you spent most of your post putting words in my mouth.

If you want the problem to be fixed then you'll need to be willing to troubleshoot it, so that diagnostic information can be generated and examined for signs of a problem. Nobody is going to magically know what's causing your problem. Fixing technical issues begins with a process of elimination to find the cause of the problem. Hence the WinMTR log.

Attacking people who respond isn't going to help anyone.
