Good idea to make Shield Charge Scale with Shield Armour / Evasion value?
Would be nice to scale "shield charge" with something other than weapon damage. You guys think it's a good idea to scale the damage off a combo of shield armour/evasion roll + weapon damage? Would be a cool new mechanic and give reason to equip rare shields with high armour and evasion rolls again.
Maybe I'm just bais because I crafted this... Dernière édition par PUCivilEngineer#5837, le 28 mars 2017 à 09:38:56 Dernier bump le 28 mars 2017 à 12:11:22

My problem with SC is that it is based on your base attack dmg, and that you have to have a melee weapon (on top of a shield) in order to use it, so no wand - even if u have a shield, which is counterintuitive. It should imho scale its damage on the shield only, the "bigger" the shield the higher the dmg ( e.g. a wall shield's hit hurts more than a buckler's) not on your weapon, and then it could be balanced based on that. AR/EV/ES values on the shield would all be taken into consideration (with different multipliers) as well as other stats .... "Metas rotate all the time, eventually the developers will buff melee"

I have mixed feelings about Shield Charge. On the one hand, I do like quirky and unique things, so a skill that scales off of your shield instead of your weapon would be pretty cool. On the other hand, the gem then becomes 100% screwed for Facebreaker/Doryani's Fist builds.

" I think (I hope) he means more like 'instead of', or 'take some dmg scaling away, and transition it to AR/EV scaling'. Operating under that assumption, yes, that's a fine and fun and thematically appropriate idea. There is a problem cloud that floats over any idea that involves scaling your offense off of your defense, namely that there is a sheer tipping point between 'useless' and 'overpowered'.
