Ideas for new skills to create a druid type character.

I was thinking about the thread where AbdulAlhazred is discussing his possible unique summoner shield, (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1862299) along with the new(ish) "summonable" spirit wolves and wondered what kind of new skills could be made to create the possibility of a Druid style character.
There are obvious classics/cliches - entangling vines, nature (chaos? elemental?) based magic, shapeshifting (I know unlikely due to animation costs), but what ideas appeal to fans of the Druid?

The beauty of POE is that we don't need an actual new PC class to create a Druid, only the skills and items to suit the playstyle. I write this as a big D2 Necro fan, who also enjoyed the D2 Druid, and would love to see what GGG and the playerbase could come up with.

Enjoy :)

well a druid shapeshifts (we dont have it) and uses nature spels (we dont have it)

but you can make a shaman (WoWish related) like use arc like a lightning bolt, fireball as lava burst, and summon spirit wolves etc

If you are successful this exile should be named Captain Tuttle (he was a reformed druid).
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat:

not likely to happen

GGG's current skill creation state is to take already existing skills, modify them a bit and call them brand new skills

their moto is:
" More of the same, Quantity over quality"

Spoiler

ice crash, earthquake, Vaal ground slam

Wild strike is the reworked version of Elemental hit

Scorching ray is the reworked version of Incinerate (no wonder they killed it just a bit before releasing it)

ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

TFW you respond in a thread linking your thread. Insert selfish self-promotion here.

Back on topic: I don't think we'd need to create new skills in order to create Druid play. In fact, I don't think we would even need new animations. All we would need is for GGG to release monster skills to players.

I'll give you some perfect examples:

1. The tornados used by the undying boss in The Library/a tormented spirit. Ring any D2 bells? Give that to players.
2. The bonspire talisman effect. Give that to players.
3. The meteor-like crash of fire elementals spawning in maps/Kaom's area in A4. Give that to players (minus fire elemental birth).

We have a lot of monster skills with nature-driven animations that would be great for a druid, if not an immediate nostalgia kick like the first example I listed with tornado.

Outside of that, you could give players an oskill to summon bears. Grizzly bear is best girl summon in D2.

It would not be too much of a stretch for this to occur, either. Since we have been given monster skills in the past. Like ball lightning.
Bring back race seasons.
