Wild strike and elemental equilibrium.
I have questions regarding how these two skills interact. Wild strike has a hit, then a proc. Question 1 : Is the proc always the same element than the initial melee damage? Or can it do a lightning attack, then proc a cold, icy wave? Question 2 : If my initial attack deals lightning damage, and then a lightning procs after, will the lightning proc do 25 % less damage because of my elemental equilibrium? Question 3 : If I attack a boss with it, and there are no other monsters anywhere, will the ice proc hit? Will the fire proc hit the boss? Will the lightning proc hit the boss? Thanks in advance. Wild strike has an initial single target melee hit, followed by a second hit. It's best to think of them both as hits, and not as the second half as a 'proc'.
The first hit is tagged with 'attack' 'melee' and '<chosen element>. The second hit LOSES the 'melee' tag, but gains 'AoE' if fire, 'projectile' if cold, or 'chain' if lightning. The element of the second attack matches the initial melee hit. In the question two scenario, EE would proc on whatever target you hit and take less damage if damaged by the arcing lightning. Targets behind him would be getting hit for the first time, so they would now be vulnerable to cold and fire. Question 3 I don't remember, I'd have to log into my guy to check, but I think the secondary effects will hit the boss. Wild Strike is a tough skill to wrap your head around. It has it's own dedicated forum page in the skill gem section of the forums, so you can check there for more info. Don't take my word for all this 100%, this has been what I can tell from playing it once to level 86 and reading the wiki and forums, but you know how mechanics in this game can be. |
