[solved] Graphic Card makes Noises when Starting/Logging in PoE
Hey guys,
I have to report a issue, it is not really a big problem but it is interesting, If i start Path of Exile my Graphic Card (probably it is the Graphic Card) makes strange sounds for each step (sounds are changing for each step) I did record it maybe you have similar problems. I have the latest drivers of nVidia and my System is: msi z170a gaming pro (mainboard) i7-6700K 32GB RAM (4x8GB 2800mhz) win7 x64 MSI GTX 970 2x SSD 250GB each (thats where PoE is installed with Win7 etc) 1x HDD 500gb (0% usage) no cd/dvd reader or other PCIe/SATA using stuff. AUDIO FILE: http://xup.in/dl,17028989 PS: It is NOT killing my system/hardware but it is strange and should be fixxed :)) PS²: if the development team need any diagnostic logs, just tell me which u want. Simple coil whine cause the card overworks itself trying to max the FPS at the log in screen, probably hitting 500 + FPS.
Has nothing to do with PoE itself, its the MSI 970. Its nothing to worry about and you can fix at nvidia control if you so wish. Find 3D settings-->Program Settings-->Find Path of exile client you are running-->Vertical Sync On. Its not really needed but it will probably stop the coil whine if it bothers you/scares you. You are right, it was because of VSync.
Turning on VSync in nVidia did not solve it but i had to do it InGame too. Now it stopped making this noises. Thank you! |

" Its the same thing, just enable a vertical sync ;p |

" they arent the same actually. sometimes the graphics card built-in settings get ignored by games! i have seen this a lot. like if you want to look at a good example then look at Diablo 3. it will ignore you trying to set many things now when at the first release you could fully set most settings in the card and run full AA, VSync, and everything from the card which was better than in-game. i always have my VSync on because without it i get like 300FPS and my R9 tries to work at 100% the entire time. which means the fans are on full power, it generates tons of heat, but most of all... it is rendering hundreds of frames it doesnt even need to. my monitor only goes up to 60hz so 300FPS is pretty stupid on it. i just VSync it down and the card runs at what the monitor is actually capable of. no waste.
