AMD known issue? Driver crash.

I have both amd gpu and processor, game always gave me a hard time, but lately is just unplayable...

I'm having the famous "Driver stopped working and has recovered" game freezes, screen goes black, sometimes CTD, sometimes just disconnect from the server. It happens everytime anywhere, mod density, particle effects doens't really matter, I crashed inside the town doing nothing at normal in act1.
after 2.6 it happens so often it's just unplayable.

I wanted to know if there's an AMD official issue with PoE. I know that ZiggyD had a hard time making his pc working together with PoE, when he had the amd partnership and had to end it. Something about ending an sponsorship with AMD tells me that's not only my pc the problem.

My specs:

AMD phenom x6 Black edition
radeon r7 260x
8gb ram
windows 10 64bits

Can I do something about it? here are the things I've tried:

drivers updated.
disabling everything in game options
fullscreen/windowed mode
vsync
audio channel : low,medium
resolution
starting as admin, compatibility mode
closing all aplications before starting poe
rolling back drivers
processor and gpu not overheating
problem's just with poe

I'm not a pro at computers, I'm just trying to figure it out, if there's something you can help me with please do so, thanks!

Edit: I'll try the suggestions, if everything else fails, I'll just go back to windows 7.
I forgot to mention that I recently got win10 and been having those issues since. Might be related I don't know.
thanks for the quick replies.

There is not. Im using both AMD CPU and GPU and game works for me smoothly like infants ass.
Yes I am having same issue ever since the first time I play PoE on my RX 470 (but intel CPU).

Even my previous PC (5 years old, NVidia card) could run POE without problem / crash.

I tried similar thing :
Try to run PoE on Win 7
Update to latest drivers (graphic card and mobo)
Clean uninstall on all AMD drivers and roll back driver back to 2016
Reinstalling my Win 10 from scratch and disable autoupdating
Trying every single options in POE menu, including graphic settings and DirectX
Physically cleaning up my PC

And still having this crash.

It seems AMD and PoE is just not a good combination (or maybe GGG never intended to make this game to be playable on AMD).

The most headache is when you doing Lab and it crashed. Made me want to punch my monitor :O
I have Phenom x2@x4 and HD5770 and i had this problem before.

Check Your RAM test it.
Hi.

I had this problem back in 2016, when i updated my GPU drivers with latest "Crimson" series driver. I had similar crashes in every game i played that time. So my solution, i used DDU tool in safe mode to clean up my drivers, downloaded latest non-crimson drivers ( for my GPU it was and still is 15.7 version) and i got rid of crashing problem.

I think you can download WHQL verified driver package from guru3d website.

I hope it will work for you, good luck!
These driver crashes happen with AMD and Nvidia. The problem is Dx11, which is very conflict heavy and as soon it doesn´t get it´s will, it will crash your system. Aero, VLC Player, Sound drivers, old registry of former GPU drivers... everything can cause these crashes, even an OC on your system.

You can test this easily by running a lower DX version, if your game supports that. No more crashes will occur.

We can all just hope that more developers move to Dx12.

personally i hope Vulkan takes over rather than DX12. you see DX12 will only run on Win10 (and i believe Win8 if you didn't upgrade already). However, people that are using Win7 which is very popular still, Macs, and Linux are SoL.

On the other hand Vulkan will run on everything mention except maybe Mac. As far as I know Mac still cant do Vulkan because Apple decided to create a proprietary thing for themselves. Aside from that though Vulkan does the Win7/8/10 and Linux.

I run AMD FX8350/HD7870 without these issues. Whilst AMD GPU's have had their fair share of issues with this game, so have Nvidia. With regard to the ZiggyD thing, as far as I'm aware he never posted any real detail about the issue or attempted resolutions, so it's impossible to know with any certainty, why he had issues.

As far as possible fixes are concerned, there was a registry modification posted by Microsoft that changed some values related to the timeout detection and recovery features for GPUs, but I'm not sure if this works on Windows 10. You'll have to do some research. It's also been found that some Anti-Virus applications can cause this problem, as can an incorrect BIOS setting for OS identification.

I'm pretty sure DX12 is Windows 10 exclusive, which is why everyone with a conscience should be embracing Vulkan.
Same problem, no matter if I switch to dx9 I continue crashing. Rx 460 4gb
