Bloodlust support and Gladiator class
Hey exiles
Situation as follows - I have allocated Gratuitous Violence and Blood in the Eyes passives for 50% total bleed chance on hit. Then I have an attack skill linked to Bloodlust support. The question is - will the skill cause bleeding?I think it won't,but I'd like to ensure. Dernier bump le 20 juil. 2016 à 13:09:19

Bloodlust does literally say "Cannot cause Bleeding".

maybe the key is to use an always hits secondary skill, ideally one that also always
hits a group. apply bleeding with that secondary... then go to town with bloodlust on your primary. could be as simple as hitting a boss with a 4l puncture, then opening up with your bloodlust 6l attack as soon as the puncture lands. I was considering whirling blades to apply bleeding to a group as my secondary, so far I am not using bloodlust yet... leveling it up but... how and when to use it? still seems gimmicky and unhelpful atm. |

My facebreaker gladiator uses it. I run around with a 4L shield charge and if anything survives more than 1 or 2 hits I kill it with Ice Crash linked with bloodlust (and a lot of other things). I also suppose that counter gems can also apply bleeding? I'm not 100% sure about that, but it would be an easy way of getting the bonus without much investment (if you are using a shield of course)

" You're quite correct; counter gems are a good way to cause bleeding on enemies that last more than a half-second. |

The main problem with bloodlust is that you really don't need more damage. It's easy to rip apart even bosses, so unless you are causing bleeding indirectly anyway (a movement skill with fortify or a counter with curse on hit) it's just not worth the effort. And in some cases that can double dip the DoT (Earthquake is a perfect example), it is an outright damage decrease.

Counter gems are a decent way to cause bleeding, but Ancestrals are more reliable. Don't really need the extra power for anything but uniques anyway, so let your Warchief wail on something to perpetually refresh bleeding while your bloodlust gives you massive extra damage on your own skill(s).
