[Theorycraft] The glassiest of glass cannons
The time has come again when I dive into my stash, rummage around among my junk uniques and try to pull out something useful.
In this edition, I'm going for something less hipster than I usually do: a dual-Obliteration CoC Pathfinder flask build. Behold, the skill tree at 100 points. The only thing I'm concerned about here is the +146% life. More on that later. Items I'm building around: Since I can only have one 5+ link, I'm thinking of making a single attack that could work against single targets and packs as well: Barrage + CoC + EK + Inc Crit + Pierce, while running Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder With Inc Crit, the base crit chance of an Obliteration is 12%. A little more, actually, but let's use conservative estimates. I have +400% weapon crit chance from the tree, and Inc Crit and an Ice Golem can easily put me up to +500% total (or more, but conservative estimates). That's at least 72% crit chance, and if I pop a Diamond Flask, that becomes 92%. So I can basically reach the crit cap without power charges or Assassin's Mark. Basically, here's how I envision the build would work: - Permanently run Atziri's Promise and a Diamond Flask - Pretty much always crit with Barrage -> lots of EK casts - Significant flat added ele damage from Heralds for freezing/chilling/shocking trash - Between the two wands and Promise, 51% of physical damage added as Chaos, also applies to EK - Master Herbalist then adds Poison to both Barrage and EK - Master Surgeon keeps flasks filled - Volley Fire, EK's spread and Pierce helps with pack clearing - 2% of all attack damage (including chaos and ele) and 2% of all chaos damage (including that from EK) leeched instantly Question 1: Will this work as I outlined it, or did I miss something that punches a hole in the concept? Question 2: Is +146% life passable if I don't intend to level beyond 90? Question 3: Which of these belts would go best with the build? Girdle gives the most life and least damage. Prismweave probably adds the most overall damage, but gives no life at all. BotD seems like the most balanced choice in terms of life/damage, and I could def use the crit reduction to avoid oneshots. Magnate is also decently balanced for life/damage, and the charge gain could help me permanently run a Basalt flask or some such in addition to the Promise and Diamond. As usual, any other comments are welcome. :) Dernière édition par suszterpatt#5078, le 9 juil. 2016 à 19:51:10 Dernier bump le 11 juil. 2016 à 14:35:46

This is the glassiest of the glass cannons.
Literally whoever can finish all quests on hardcore with that build wins the game. |

Well, since you bumped :)
When I saw the thread title I immediately thought of my crit cold witch, who made it to at least level 72 with literally no Life or Energy Shield nodes. Nowadays there are too many targeted ground effects, bosses with higher Life than before bosses with adds, etc., and Life and ES nerfs since the golden days for me to play her as a main anymore. She just dies way too much in current game version. I tell ya what, though, it was so satisfying when I was able to literally permafreeze Dominus both forms (Malachai didn't exist at that time). Obviously you're talking about a very very different kind of glass cannon and one which I have no experience playing, so that's all the feedback I can give you for now :p Need game info?
