Enchantment vs. Vaal Corruption
I feel like this is an issue that needs to be addressed.
As of right now, Enchantments on items such as glove/boot/helm are a far better options than vaal corruption on those said items, which is making Vaal orb on these enchant-able items obsolete (Sure you can get some nice mods, but vaal orb is a very risky alternative to enchantment that doesn't guarantee pay out.) Let's discuss the pro and con of enchantment and corruption first. First off, mind I remind you all that enchantment count as an implicit mod. So, vaal would replace existing enchantments if the item has an enchant. So, vaal orb and enchant share the same stat slots in an item. Enchantment Pro- -You are guarantee always something useful as stats out of a labyrinth run -No chance of breaking the item -Can still modify the item after enchantment, such as changing color, crating etc -Cost nothing except your time to do the labyrinth run Con- -It is time consuming to do labyrinth enchantment farming -It takes a long time and luck to get the enchantment you want Vaal Orb Pro- You can get some op stats on some of the items (but not necessarily far superior than enchants). Con- -Chance of breaking item -Corrupting an item makes it un-modifiable nor enchanta-ble -Cost one vaal orb -Risky, you are not guaranteed a pay out So to speak, enchantment is now a far better option than corrupting these enchant-able items, which I think needs to be balanced. Not to mention, with the possibility of enchantment become available on other item slots in the future, something should be done about this. An easy solution would be making corrupted item enchant-able, otherwise, what incentive would people have to vaal orb helmet, glove or boots? Enchantment should always be an option if you didn't get your desired vaal orb effect. Thanks for reading and please excuse my grammer. There was never an incentive to vaal helmets.
+1 to gems on Boots/Gloves is better than an enchant. Curse on hit on Gloves is better than an enchant. +1 frenzy on boots can also be important for some builds. If you don't need any of these corruptions, you can go ahead and enchant your item. I don't see the problem with this. |

" You have to consider the RNG, the chance of actually getting the random effect you want. Economically speaking, the problem is that enchant always guarantee a pay out, and doesn't corrupt your item. Vaal orb has a huge chance of breaking your item, and most of the time the pay out is useless. Dernière édition par SexyFury#0119, le 31 mai 2016 à 17:35:42

" Depends on the item and the corruptions available... I agree with the OP though, corruptions are really lacking compared to enchantments overall right now. Like a while back I was messing around in Standard ready to Vaal a 6-link Oro's Sacrifice, then I looked at the possible corruptions and was like "WTF, no level 1 Blood Magic for 2H? No level 1 Fortify?" GGG needs to make sure corruptions keep up with power creep. |
