Best Golem for Clayshaper build?
I'm leveling a Witch for a clayshaper build, and I'm trying to figure out which golem would be optimum.
Flame Golem has the best ranged, Ice has the best DPS, Chaos is properly aligned with Int, and Stone comes with the hammer. Any ideas? Dernier bump le 26 mars 2016 à 05:40:50

If you're running an elementalist I'd go for Ice & Flame golems and then use a cold skill converted to fire to make the most of the damage bonus.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I was planning a Necromancer, so the idea would be to utilize the Golems as actual minions, not for their bonus.

" Right, then you should use the strongest option, and that means two Flame golems. Flame golem has the most consistent attack pattern and it's the easiest to support. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Also for the record, I'm dual wielding them. So three flame golems.

Yeah, flame golem is your best option. I don't really know about clayshaper builds, but you probably will grab the minion nodes in the tree so getting zombies should be easy. They can tank for you, so getting range is a good idea and flame golems are the only real ranged ones.

I've heard flame golems are best.
Stone golems benefit from the fact that all of their moves are physical attacks, but I've heard their damage is piss. Chaos and ice golems have the problem that they deal a mix of physical attacks and non-physical spells so it can be difficult to scale them well. Flame golems have only one attack I think, but most people just slap G/Lmp and rely on their fireballs completely. When it comes to damage types, be aware that the golems are kind of stupidly designed. Ice golem deals pure physical in all its attacks, with the ice Spears being the only spell that actually does cold damage. IGN: Ikimashouka, Tsukiyattekudasai, DontCallMeMrFroyo

I've gotten to the point that I can actually use a golem, a few levels off of using my Clayshapers.
I've got a Tabula, which I'm socketing with Flame Golem - G/LMP - Elemental Focus - Fire Penetration - Minion Damage - Controlled Destruction. Life is not an issue as golems can be easily resummoned, unlike spectres. Is this a good setup? |

Why not to stick around with stone & chaos ? so you could run a B Fall or B vortex; with those golems providing you some boost to dps.
(tho might be minimal : it seems like 2 flame golems overwhelm a extra chaos/phys bonus to spells.) *assuming you´re running a Elementalist, right ? "-Moments of clarity are so rare, i´d better document this."

Just something I thought I'd note: the flame golems' increased damage does not stack.
