Mechanics Question (Viper Strike/Multistrike)
Ok so I'm building a Crit/IAS Viper Strike build for this patch, so far it's doing very well.
I've just hit level 31 and I'm looking toward my 4l 5l 6l setups. However I'm caught at my first quandary. currently my setup is: Viper Strike > FA > Increased Melee Damage Possible 4th gems: Added Fire Damage Fortify Multistrike So the really becomes if I use Multistrike, how much will I be Gimping my DOT charges, Certainly I will have more of them at any given point, however they will do less damage per tick. Anyone have any prior experience with Multistrike and Viper Strike? Is it a good or a bad idea. On paper more hits = more debuffs = better? |

Oh come on no one has input? I know VS is underloved... but come on now doesn't anyone have a bit of love in their hearts for poison dagger necro?

Well, after the viper strike change, your dps translates to viper dps, so that's 35% more dps from direct attacks and charges.

But the Damage Reduction affects the physical damage delt per hit, the charges are based on the damage of the hit, so they should in theory be dependent on the pysical damage of the initial hit.
Or am I wrong? |

" That is so, but you're also applying twice as many charges. Oh and it isn't just physical, Viper charges work with all damage types, unlike Puncture. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

So tried it out, it's problematic for me, it appears that when dual wielding you get 3x attacks from 1 weapon then 3x attacks from the 2nd with multistrike.
the dps is the same... but it looks ugly as hell. I'm going John Woo so she needs to use both knives while attacking. |
