Production_config missing.

Greetings dear Exiles!
So, i've several times changed the production_configs, due to random fps troubles and laggs and that stuff. But just to lower the graphics and turn off the shadows. So, i know the normal way, where it's located: C:\Users\"username"\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile And there i would normally find the 'production_Config.ini' My problem is now: The whole file just moved by it's own. At my pc it's now located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile I dont know Why it's there, i dont know what reason there was ,that it just changed the location but my actually problem is now: The whole 'production_Config.ini' document is missing. If i also use the search function: Pressing windows button + r and search for the 'production_Config.ini' it just says that there is no file with that name. I'm not sure I completely understand your story, so I'm going to tell it back to you like I understand it and see if it is accurate.
You were playing PoE normally and making manual changes to your production_Config.ini file. Everything was good. Suddenly the file became "missing", but you managed to locate it inside the actual PoE folder, and not where the file is supposed to live. This is the part that breaks down for me. If you found the file there, what has happened between then and now to cause it to become completely missing? Did you try to copy it back to the original location? Did you make any other changes to Path of Exile? Does anyone else have access to the PC? The file generally doesn't magically move itself... if it did, it would be because of a specific change GGG has made to re-locate the settings file, but I'm unaware of anything like that... which also still doesn't explain how it got in the PoE folder for a moment and is now completely missing. |

That's why i'm asking here for help. And yes, u understood it completely, it's like u said. I made those little changes normally.
Then i played a longer time without changing the production_config. Now i wanted to change it, and i noticed the change that the file moved . And to your questions: No, i'm living alone, nobody has access to my pc. I found the normal GGG file. Everything is there but not the production_config it ist just ...like u said...unfortunately magically missing... Is the production_config.ini back there when i completely re-install the game? It's supposed to create a new one each time you launch the game and close it.
That's why I find it odd that it is missing in the first place. Normally, if a user renames or deletes the file, the next time they run PoE, the file is recreated (unless you have added a parameter to your shortcut to prevent it using the file) |

If the config.ini file moved from it's original folder it would just create a new one in it's place, as it happens i've had to do a reinstal on a clean OS and the file is still where it's supposed to be C:\Users\***\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile so nothing has changed with the game to make it save elsewhere.

Well, i changed it, like u kinda said.
I moved the folder from the new location to the old, originally location. Now i got the production_config.ini file back. But some others orders like the 'Rads' or 'logs' order are missing. And i got those folder: DailyDealCache, Minimap, MOTDCache. Well, i can live with that since i only need my production_config, but it's still weird... o.o But i would say: Case closed. Thank you :> |
