PoE causing monitor to lose power

So I've been playing PoE since the day it entered open beta and never had any issues,
But since the start of the 1 months randomly my monitor will lose power for a fraction of a second and turn itself back on (which causes a black screen of like 7-8 seconds while it turns back on). I know it's losing power because the touch lights light up in its right to left power up pattern. It sometimes happens every 2-3 minutes at bad times. Also, it ONLY happens on the main monitor (the one PoE is on), my secondary monitor remains on and never goes black.

This >ONLY< happens while playing PoE. dark souls 2, GTA5, arma3, ff14, nothing else causes this to happen.

It seems to happen more often in certain areas like the market place / docks / lunaris / atziris' map. It has NEVER happened in my hideout, but yesterday did it twice in the act3 town. edit: just happened in my hideout

currently using a

GTX 580 that hits around 78-80C (this cards max threshold before it downclocks is 97C)
i5 760 that is not being OCd (hits mid 40s under load)
power supply is a 750W and is WAYYYY more than enough for everything I have

I have tried:

-reinstalling PoE
-clean installing newest nvidia drivers
-clean installing older graphics drivers from when the game didn't have issues
-messing with in game graphics options (ive always played on max everything)
-changing DVI ports on the graphics card
-taking out the graphics card & cleaning it / securing it extremely tight so it was contacting the best it could be
-starting computer with only 1 monitor on
-setting nvidia control panel power setting to max for PoE
-changing outlet monitor is plugged into
-changing brightness to lower strain on monitor

Nothing has worked so far, so I'm not quite sure whats left for me to check for.

Sounds like your monitor is not losing power, but is losing video signal.

This is usually caused by your video drivers being reset by windows.

Check the Windows Event/Error logs to see if there are signs of this in any of the messages after this happens.

Nope no error messages in there.

When the monitor goes black, I can see the lights in the bottom right turning on like they do when the monitor is turned on; the 6 lights turn on right to left in its special way.

If i just remove the video feed they stay on.

Then it sounds like your monitor is broken.

Shouldn't matter what signal it receives, it shouldn't shut itself off. And software itself cannot do that. It's likely the signal poe is sending is causing your monitor fits.
Have the same problem as topic starter. Monitor starts to switch black on and off automaticly after like 20 secs of playing. With all the other games - fine ( even which require more power to play). Problem appeared today.

Please create your own thread, and also check for windows event messages. Just because it has similar symptoms doesn't mean it is the same problem. There are many things which can cause the monitor to blank.

Considering I played 4 hours of GTA5 straight tonight and didn't have ONE issue with the monitor.

I start up PoE and begin playing the 5 day race and instantly start getting the black screens. Hell, going through the riverways it went off 5 times in 3 minutes.

something is definitely wrong with the game and I need to find out what.
You're missing what I'm saying. Software has no control over the power on your monitor.

I'm not saying that PoE isn't causing your symptoms, but I'm saying that PoE isn't the root problem.

Think of it like having a cracked rib. Under normal activity you don't notice it's there. But if I came up and poked you in the rib, it would hurt a lot. I caused the pain, but I didn't crack your rib.

I cause the symptom to manifest, but I didn't cause the underlying problem. The rib was cracked before I touched it.

PoE might be sending a specific signal at a specificfrequency that your monitor doesn't like, but that's not PoEs problem, it's a problem with the monitor.
anybody else with any idea?

well,

guess i have to sit back and hope the engine changes in act4 fixes whatever PoE is doing to cause this.
