So my +spell damage from wand:
will not be counted and HoI, HoT will do less damage, right?

The change in the type is because the damage from the effects are not Spell damage, so wasn't being affected by passives/items but because they were tagged as Spell, this wasn't obvious.
It's a change for clarification rather than actual effect.
