Monastery Bell/Shattershard Tank -20,000+ HP/Armor, 90% Ele Res, 5-10K regen- ~15 divine low budget

This build is based around a combo enabled by a new 3.27 unique , Monastery Bell, and an existing shield (Shattershard) which comes as a reward from grand heists: ![]() ![]() What this combo does is when you block an enemy attack you trigger the shield shatter skill which does AOE spell damage but makes you unable to block. Normally the skill would take 4 seconds to be able to retrigger however with Monastery Bell there is no cooldown because even though you cannot block the line 'Count as blocking attack damage from the first target hit with each shield attack' activates the spell every hit. The spell also grants additional spell physical damage which stacks with itself. More on how we activate the spell later... The build is also greatly strengthened by what I think to be the most overpowered new ascendency node (corruption's embrace) shown below. ![]() Imagine instead the text of the skill said: 5% to maximum elemental resistances, 30% more life, +4 vaal skill uses (for Vaal Righteous Fire explained later) for a downside of 50% less life regeneration rate. One might would argue, 'what about the 8 corrupted items'? Well 2 of them you already saw and the rest are unique items which are few chaos each and easy to find (currently): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Since the corruption's embrace node essentially has 30% more life and Kaom's heart is used (+1000 life) i thought why not lean into life and % regeneration? Here are the nodes which helped with life and also the new 3.27 keepers league Grafts which are hands sprouting out of your back lol but they offer powerful buffs to the build: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In terms of life regeneration I first want to talk about the skill you see on the above graft called 'Tender Embrace'. What this does is when we are on low life (55% of life or less due to one of the life masteries) we get an additional 27% more life recovery for 1.00 second (for this example 1.34 seconds) which i believe is modified by below runegraft of the warp (for ~1.75 seconds in this example). Its important to note this buff does not get removed when you are not at low life (i.e. can be up to regen you to full life): ![]() Further on the topic of life regeneration is this combo of enduring cry and the ascendency node on chieftain Sione, Sun's Roar: ![]() ![]() Shield Charge: Shield charge can get 10+ attacks per second as it has the fastest shield attack time (base 0.5 seconds) and a runegraft gives offhand 10% more attack speed which it is. Then we stack a ton of attack speed (gloves are the most expensive part of the build) and a runegraft that gives 20% increased effect of gloves (which have an essence for 19.2% more attack speed of socketed gems...see gems section for shield charge sockets). With resolute technique keystone it also never misses! Gems: Gems are simple and straightforward i took a screenshot from poe ninja: Not shown is shattershard shield ( awakened controlled destruction + awakened fire penetration (level 5 for exposure) + awakened added fire damage ) ![]() Jewels: Jewels are also straight forward, the forbidden flesh/flame are juggernaut's untiring as they do great life regeneration. The foulborn red dream is broken it gives lucky damage, 58% increased maximum life with firewalker tattoos!!: ![]() Campaign Leveling: Here are my leveling uniques (tabula rasa armor, seven league step boots, and replica karui ward amulet not shown as I sold them). Notice that monastery bell/shattershard are here...that is because shattershard has a level requirement of level 49 and shield shatter on a 20% quality shield is basically the highest base spell damage in the game...at level 49. needless to say the campaign becomes a breeze after that. The gems are perforate/ruthless/chance to bleed/melee physical damage/fist of war/overexertion. The auras is blood and sand/herald of ash/herald of purity. The rest is just autoexertion/autoexertion with infernal cry/battlemage cry+vulnerability and intimidating cry/seismic cry. mvoement is leap slam/faster attacks until you get shield charge.: ![]() Runegrafts: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Video/Playstyle: Here is a quick video of a T16.5 Originator's map: (If you see health going down its just me popping vaal RF note it does not remove blood barrier) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e5QfXBAWTk&feature=youtu.be Updates: 1) I notice I can drop enfeeble for elemental weakness for more damage 2) I dropped some life nodes for a medium cluster jewel on the left hand side maurader cluster socket (no large cluster needed) because of two nodes mainly wrapped in flame : Wrapped in Flame: 20% increased Fire Damage 5% chance to Cover Enemies in Ash on Hit while you are Burning Cannot be Chilled while Burning The other node can be the -5% fire res one. " Yes perforate, i listed the gems above. If you notice in the picture i posted a couple two handed axes i bought for levels 9, 18, 29, 39 so the damage upgraded every few levels. Yes shattershard is comfortable to level with after with controlled destruction , fire pen, added fire damage. The starting items are tabula, goldrim, 2 redbeaks (to level 8-9) seven league step, meginords belt, loch caress gloves, replica karui ward, 2 unique blackheart rings (then leup of alls later) |
