I don't really count MTG because the cards hold value. I had a ton invested, but when I quit a while back selling my legacy and modern decks pretty much covered the huge outlay. (and possibly even profited a bit.... Legacy cards appreciated greatly over time and when modern was created the cards for it all spiked in price big time)

Yep... I got $500 for my entire collection. But it wasn't "profit".

I have the biggest time investment in this game, if that counts.

At $340, there is no other game that comes even close to what i've spent on PoE.

The most expensive game I have ever played? Not even close - 7 years in WoW thousands of dollars.
Ive probably dropped 300 ish on PoE and found it has been worth every penny.

The question might be phrased as "Do you think you are getting your money's worth?"

I have over 108 days played on my main alone in WoW (roughly 2500 hours) but my time in PoE has been worth it.

Probably the most expensive for me, yes. I've dropped a pretty penny on Hearthstone now just to try and complete my gold set! Oh FTP models, how you gouge my wallet.

Oh, and membership fees for various MMOs. LOTRO probably right up there.

They're so shiny though! I don't regret my gold set in Hearthstone at all. I'm still missing a bunch of basic cards in golden though, as I don't have all the classes to level 60 yet.

(also missing a bunch of the golden portraits... 500 wins in ranked is a ton on so many different classes)

$400-450ish on conquer online << that was addicting. I had to quit because I kept wanting to spend
$150ish on gunz online
$125ish on luminary/goonzu
$50ish on ragnarok
$20ish on ROTMG

$150-200ish on Tibia monthly fee.
$70-100ish on runescape monthly fee



I came to path of exile for cut-throat 3 years ago. I have not spent much since there is no cut-throat still. I imagine I will spend more once a pk server + trading system comes out.

WoW takes the cake, $100's (if not over $1000) in sub fees, expansions, and server transfers. Haven't played in 5 years or so now though

On topic: Yes, I have never payed more for any game before. No regrets. (Except for not buying the Gold-Supporter-Pack in CB)
